Ann Snow Writes:

I wanted to tell you that my paintings were juried in to 2 CT galleries, two shows each, and I also won an award for one painting that is hanging in the Essex Gallery. Lately I have been trying out Bristol board for paintings and I like that effect as well.........it is quite different from the shiny smooth paper effect. I am also working on making larger paintings since people seem to like them better. I attached prize winner "Horizon". It is much more colorful than the picture shows. I matted it in a white double mat and used a black frame around it. It is about 10 X 13 and is done on smooth Bristol board. Just wanted you to know that it is possible for galleries to take encaustic paintings so people in their areas should try it..........if they want to.

"Horizon"

Abstract 22
Prize Winning
"Abstract 22"
This piece is done on 11" X 14" black or silver paper. "Abstract 22" was matted with a black inner, and a white outer mat, and the frame was mahogany.

Ann Comments: I think this picture is quite spooky and creepy, but it is a shame the color in the scanned image does not reflect the vividness of the original piece.
